Alexia Mini Biography

Alexia, by name of Alessia Aquilani (born May 19, 1967), is an Italian singer. Before recording in Italian in the 2000s, she made records in English in the late 1990s. Many of those were international hits. Before her solo career she was the vocalist of Ice Mc.

Alexia was born in La Spezia, Liguria.

She started working for Italian producer Roberto Zanetti (better known as Robyx) in 1990, as a back-up singer to several of Zanetti's eurodance acts, including Double You and Ice MC. In 1994, the whole world danced with the songs "Think About the Way", which was later included in the soundtrack of the movie Trainspotting, "It's a Rainy Day" and "Russian Roulette". In 1995 she had her first solo single, "Me and You", on Zanetti's label ZYX Music. This was followed by a variety of singles which were collected, along with original tracks, in her first album, Fan Club, published in 1997 by Sony Music's subsidiary Dance Pool. "Summer is Crazy", "Number One" and "Uh La La La" are the most popular tracks from this album.

In her second album, The Party, Alexia started moving from eurodance to pop music. The most successful song, "The Music I Like", though, is a clear eurodance track. On the UK version of The Party a remix of "Uh la la la" was the most prominent track, having reached number 10 in the UK top 40 in 1998. Happy is the title of her third album.

In 2002, she abandoned eurodance and started singing almost exclusively in Italian. She made her first appearance at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2002, coming second with "Dimmi Come", and returned the following year, winning with "Per Dire di No".

In Italy, her most successful album was 2004's Gli Occhi Grandi Della Luna (Moon's eyes) which features the international hit "You Need Love" written by Diane Warren.

Alexia has sold over 6,000,000 albums worldwide.

Aqua Mini Biography

AQUA is a Danish-Norwegian dance-pop group, perhaps best known for their 1997 breakthrough single Barbie Girl. The group formed in 1989 and achieved huge success across the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group managed to top the UK Singles Chart with their first three singles. The group released two albums: Aquarium in 1997 and Aquarius in 2000, before splitting up in July 2001.

The group sold an estimated 33 million albums and singles, making them the most successful Danish band ever.[1]

The band was formed by Lene Nystrøm Rasted (vocals), Rene Dif (vocals), Søren Rasted (keyboard) and Claus Norreen (guitar).

In their prime, AQUA's singles managed to chart top ten in a number of countries where European pop acts would not normally succeed, including the United States, Australia, and Japan. The group also caused controversy with the double entendres in their Barbie Girl single, with the Barbie doll makers Mattel filing a lawsuit against the group. The lawsuit was finally dismissed by a judge in 2002, who ruled "The parties are advised to chill."

Since their 2001 split, Nystrøm, Dif and Rasted have all achieved solo chart success, and Norreen has continued in the music industry remixing other artists' material.

The group has announced the upcoming release of a compilation album featuring new material, and the four original members have confirmed Aqua will reunite for a tour in 2008. This was confirmed at a press event Friday on October 26, 2007. In December 2008 was announced three Aqua concerts in 2009.

Aqua was musically influenced by the eurodance genre that was popular in Europe, Oceania and South America in the 1990s. The style of eurodance was dance music with a female singer and a male rapper. Often the lyrics would be meaningless and not follow the pattern of a traditional pop song. This however was what Aqua changed. Influenced by the recent wave of bubblegum pop started by the Spice Girls, Aqua followed a more traditional verse-chorus structure. Usually, the verse would consist of Lene starting and finishing, while René would sing in the middle. The chorus was mostly sung by Lene. René would sometimes sing a few words, but that was it. Because of the traditional pop structure on top of the eurodance inspiration, Aqua is considered to do bubblegum dance-pop more than eurodance. Even though most people know Aqua for the dance tracks such as Barbie Girl, Doctor Jones, Lollipop (Candyman) and My Oh My they also made slower tracks like Turn Back Time, Good Morning Sunshine and We Belong to the Sea. These tracks do not belong to the general bubblegum pop genre. There is also a difference between the first album Aquarium and the second album Aquarius. Aquarium had many similar tracks whereas Aquarius experimented with acoustic instruments and genres like country and Latin music. At the end of the 1990s the interest for eurodance music was dropping. Aqua's second album, Aquarius, which was released in 2000, was therefore not as well timed as the first one.

The lengths of all the songs were made so they were suitable for radio play. The average length for the tracks on Aquarium is 3:43. This is also a characteristic of pop music.

Unreleased songs include Wow, Wow, Wow, Shakin' Stevens (Is A Superstar), Couch Potato, Hi-Fi Stereo, Here Comes The Birds from Grøn Koncert 2001 and Those Were The Days from Grøn Koncert 2008.

Peter René Baumann (born January 5, 1968) better known as DJ BoBo, is a successful Swiss singer, songwriter, dancer and music producer. DJ BoBo has sold 14 million records world-wide and has released 10 studio albums as well as a few compilation albums which have included his previous hits in a reworked format. He has also released as many as 34 singles to date some of which have charted quite high not only in German speaking countries but also in other European territories.

As a dance music producer, his first big success came with the single "Somebody Dance With Me", which borrows its melody from Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me. After this, he charted well with the singles "Keep on Dancing", "Take Control", "Everybody", "Let the Dream Come True", "Love is All Around", "Freedom", "Pray" and "What a Feeling" as well as "Chihuahua" almost all of which comprised fast-paced Eurodance techno sound with female catchy refrains and rap performed by René. From 1992 till 2007, he's had 27 single chart-hits in Switzerland and Germany, and has won 10 World Music Awards for being Switzerland's best selling artist. René has received numerous Gold and Platinum certifications for his songs and has found success in Europe, (primarily Germany, Switzerland) Asia and South America.

They have sold more than 60 million records worldwide[5][12] with only four albums and twelve singles, the demand for their first two albums was unprecedented, making them the most successful British band since the Beatles,[13][14] and compared with the Beatlemania.[15] Measures of their success include international record sales, a 2007/2008 reunion tour, merchandising, record breaking achievements, iconic symbolism such as the Union Jack dress, "Girl Power", a movie called Spice World and their nicknames.

Under the guidance of their long time mentor and manager Simon Fuller, the group embraced merchandising and became a regular feature of the British press. Each member of the group was given an alias by Top of the Pops Magazine in 1996, which were adopted by the group and media alike. According to biographer David Sinclair, "Scary, Baby, Ginger, Posh and Sporty were the most widely recognized group of individuals since John, Paul, George and Ringo." [16]

In May 1998, Geri Halliwell left the group in the middle of numerous rumours. The four remaining members released the third album, but went their separate ways in late 2000 to focus on their solo careers. On 28 June 2007 all five re-formed before the launch of their Reunion Tour in December, alongside the release of their Greatest Hits album. In December, a new official documentary Giving You Everything aired on various television networks around the globe. In February 2008, the Spice Girls announced that they were ending their tour prematurely in Toronto on 26 February 2008.
